Dental care compliance is the real challenge in feline oral health. Many cats refuse powders sprinkled on their food, reject the texture of soft chews, and — of course — resist tooth brushing entirely. For these cats, a crunchy, snack-format dental treat that delivers proven oral health benefits may be the most practical path to consistent daily dental care.
ProDen DentalCare Dental Bites for Cats in Veggie flavour are crunchy, bite-sized treats containing A.N ProDen® — the clinically studied kelp ingredient that carries the VOHC (Veterinary Oral Health Council) Seal of Acceptance for plaque and tartar reduction. Made with a short list of natural plant-based ingredients including wheat, corn, barley, rice, olive oil, and vegetable flavourings, they are free from artificial preservatives, artificial colours, and added sugar.
Many cats have food allergies or sensitivities to animal proteins. The veggie flavour formulation — wheat, corn, barley, rice, olive oil, and vegetable flavourings — is free from meat proteins, making it suitable for cats on hypoallergenic diets or those with known protein sensitivities. Low calorie at less than 1 kcal per bite.
Caution: Contains naturally occurring iodine from kelp. Not recommended for cats being treated for hyperthyroidism without veterinary guidance.
ProDen Dental Bites are a strong option for households where multiple dental care formats have already been tried and rejected. Their distinguishing feature — beyond the VOHC-validated active ingredient — is the crunchy texture, which some cats find more engaging as a treat compared to soft chews. The systemic mechanism is also worth communicating to cat owners who assume that dental treats only work if the cat chews thoroughly: A.N ProDen enters the saliva after swallowing and exerts its anti-plaque effect across the whole oral cavity regardless of chewing behaviour.
Both products contain the same active kelp ingredient. Using both simultaneously would double the iodine intake, which could be problematic for cats with thyroid concerns. For most healthy cats, using one ProDen format consistently is sufficient.
Yes. The Dental Bites are very low calorie — under 1 kcal per bite. At 1–2 bites per day, the caloric contribution is negligible even for cats on weight management diets.
The Dental Bites have a crunchy texture while the Soft Chews have a softer consistency. Both contain A.N ProDen kelp. The Bites are veggie-flavoured (plant-based ingredients only); the Soft Chews use a natural flavouring formulation with brewer's yeast. Choose based on your cat's texture preference.
