A bandaged paw that contacts the ground with every step faces constant contamination, compression, and soiling — all of which compromise healing and can lead to wound infection. Whether your dog has a paw wound, a post-surgical dressing, a broken nail, or simply needs paw protection on rough terrain during recovery, MPS Protection Boots provide a reliable outer shell that keeps dressings clean, dry, and intact between veterinary visits.
The MPS Protection Boot is a rigid-soled, thick-walled boot designed for durability over extended wear periods. The sole resists ground abrasion and moisture penetration, while the flexible upper wraps comfortably around the paw and lower leg without constricting circulation. The secure closure system holds the boot firmly in position without slipping, even during active movement.
MPS Protection Boots are appropriate for: covering paw bandages during outdoor walks and exercise, protecting post-surgical paw dressings, covering injured or cracked paw pads, protecting sensitive paws from hot pavement or chemical de-icers, and supporting recovery after orthopaedic paw procedures. For indoor use only (soft surfaces), the MPS Short Boot may be more comfortable.
Even the best paw boot can accumulate moisture inside if worn for extended periods. Remove the boot at least twice daily to allow the paw to breathe and inspect the dressing for soiling or compression. For post-surgical patients, keep boot wear periods to 2-hour maximum intervals followed by 30-minute uncovered periods. Placing a clean sock or light gauze layer inside the boot before use absorbs sweat and prevents the boot's interior from becoming a source of contamination.
What sizes are available?
