Luer Slip vs Luer Lock

Luer slip syringes attach to needles or fluid lines by friction alone — quick to swap, but the needle can separate under pressure. Luer lock syringes have a threaded collar that screws onto the needle, preferred when administering fluids under back-pressure (subcutaneous fluids, viscous suspensions). Slip is generally fine for drawing up and routine SQ injections.
